West Route 66 Road Trip Overview

It was the summer of July 2013, and we decided to take an EPIC 16 day road trip with our son Cash who was only 1 year and 8 months old at the time.

Throughout the trip we visited many Route 66 attractions, the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Santa Monica Pier, Disneyland, Yosemite National Park, and had a family reunion where we met a ton of Kayla’s family for the first time! (Her father was adopted and we met his biological family)

This was our second long road trip with our lil man, the first one being our East Road trip from Oklahoma to Pennsylvania  in July 2012 when Cash was less than 1 year old.

Many people tried to talk us out and say Cash was too young for a trip like that. But we politely ignored their opinions and ventured on anyways. The challenges of taking care of a toddler remain the same whether at home or on the road. Don’t let your fears or the fears of others stop you from exploring this great world.

Before taking a trip like this you will need to do some budgeting, prepping and planning but remember not to over plan because it’s fun to leave extra time for random things

Check out our 5 step plan we use to get the most of every road trip.
