Catoosa has a variety of family fun things to see and do especially around Route 66.

 

Catoosa is located just outside of East Tulsa and Route 66 runs right through it. We have explored the area many times.

Below you will see our favorite places to see and things to do in Catoosa.

 

Route 66 Blue Whale

Ol’ blue is a must see if in the Tulsa area or if cruising Route 66.

Its completely free to see and experience. You can go inside the Whale, walk the trail beside it, fish in the pond and check out the gift shop.

It’s a great roadside attraction and one of the most iconic on Route 66.

DW Correll Museum

You may be surprised to see Oklahoma has a Maritime Education Center. Yes, this isn’t a joke. Here you can learn about the Port of Catoosa the Tug boat sitting in front of the center.

Redbud Valley Nature Preserve

If you are an outdoor lover and enjoy taking hikes and seeing wildlife Redbud Valley Nature Preserve is the place for you.

Here you can hike among one of Oklahoma’s most unique landscapes filled with large limestone boulders and many natural items not found anywhere else in Oklahoma.

There is also a visitors center with interactive exhibits and interesting items.

Eat in Catoosa

Catoosa has many unique local restaurants.

The Market 66 Chowhouse is one of my favorites.
