What is Spangles?
Spangles is a unique set of restaurants in the State of Kansas, USA. Spangles started in 1978 but if feels like you are in the 1950’s when you arriveD Many of their 27 restaurants are in the Wichita area.They are not only restaurants but also a drive-thru with a variety of food and drinks. We discovered our first Spangles restaurant on our way to Colorado. It just looked like a fun local place with the chrome panels and neon lights.
The Atmosphere of Spangles
Visiting Spangles is like stepping into the 1950’s. Clean and beautiful decorations
We just love the 50’s decor. Even the outside of the restaurant is hot roses and chromed out.
Spangles Food and Drinks
Spangles has classic American food with delicious burgers, fries with a bit of crunch, and a variety of unique things like pitas, gyros and sourdoughs as well.
They also have all kinds of desserts, milkshakes and even alcoholic beverages including 99 cent screwdrivers and margaritas.
The Meals at Spangles
The variety of food options at Spangles surprised us.
They had classic options and unique options as well. I tried the Garlic Parmesan burger. It was a tasty twist on the classic burger. Very flavorful.
The fries really surprised me they had a crunchier exterior than most but still thick with a soft potato interior.
The boys got a kids meals, Cash had the cheeseburger and Cale had the chicken. They loved them but were most impressed with the giant Oreo ice cream cookie.
Kayla got the Oriental Crispy Chicken salad which she really enjoyed.
Overall Thoughts
I’m really glad we decided to try out Spangles rather than eat at a large chain restaurant. It was a good stop on our road trip to Colorado.
