Our stay at Hampton Inn and Suites in Panama City Beach Florida
If you haven’t already, check out our Gulf Coast Road Trip Overview Article and go see where we stopped on the way to the Coast.
Now that we have finally reached the Gulf Coast, our first stop was the Hampton Inn and Suites Hotel and Resort in Panama City Beach, Florida.
Why the Hampton Inn and Suites?
We chose this hotel because it is in a great location. There is direct beach access, a pool, and its close to all kinds of attractions and restaurants.
Our Experiences
We arrived in the afternoon and had to wait for my in-laws to check in. It was a fairly new hotel so they had issues finding it on their car GPS. I recommend using Google Maps or Waze to navigate because they are updated regularly.
Parking
We unloaded our bags in the convenient loading/unloading zone and once we were checked in we received parking passes.
The parking garage is across the street from the hotel but they have an inclosed bridge that connects to the hotel. It was easy to get to and from the garage without dealing with the traffic.
Beach
Once my in-laws arrived, we checked into the hotel and got beach ready!
The beach was perfect! It wasn’t too crowded and the waves were not too big for the kids to play in.
There were plenty of areas to set up our chairs and toys. We made sandcastles and saw some fish while snorkeling.
Pool
The pool was a great place to swim without the sand and waves. It was clean and well kept. There were plenty of chairs around the pool.
It never seemed too crowded either and we enjoyed swimming in it after playing at the beach.
The Rooms
We shared a two bed room that had a couch with a pull out bed built in. The beds were comfortable, we had a large closet for our bags, a desk, tv and everything you’d expect from a nice hotel.
We had didn’t get a beach view window but we had a cool view of the road and could see Gulf World across the street.
Breakfast
The breakfast was complimentary and a bit better than standard hotel breakfast. They had more of a selection than some hotels.
Near the Hotel
There are many attractions and restaurants near the hotel, some even within walking distance.
Just across the street is Gulf World. We didn’t go there but we did walk down to Pier Park where we ate and played.
The Location
Where exactly is the Hampton Inn & Suites at Panama City Beach and how do I get there?

At the time of this writing Google Maps hasn’t even updated the image so it is still an empty lot in the map.
Overall
We loved our stay, the beach access, pool, the room and just about everything at the hotel. We would definitely stay there again.
