We visit Fort Smith often to spend time with family and because its not too far from our home in Oklahoma.

The artist have actually visited and created these masterpieces multiple times now so the city is full of vibrant building art.
It is free to walk around and enjoy the wonderful massive pieces of art.

Park at West End
You will see the Park at West End when driving across the Garrison Ave Bridge when entering Fort Smith from Oklahoma.
We love visiting the Park at West End because there is a Ferris wheel, games and rides, a diner in a train car, a double decker bus concession stand and more.

Arkansas and Missouri Railroad
The Arkansas-Missouri Railroad also known as AM Railroad is a unique family experience that will take your family on an exciting and historical adventure through the beautiful and scenic mountains and valleys of Arkansas.

Downtown Splash Pad
Near the Park at West End is a great splash pad. In the heat of the summer there is not much better than letting the kids run and play in a splash pad.

Tilles Park
Tilles Park is not your average playground. They have a great selection of playground equipment many you don’t see in your average playgrounds.

The Many Historical Areas and Museums
Fort Smith has many historical buildings and museums that are worth checking out.

In reading this post I realized that I have never been to Arkansas. I always love finding new street art. Hubby would want to explore the more historical areas of town. Although you may really find us behaving like kids on the splash pad.
Traveling with kids opens up destinations in ways you’d never experience otherwise. I miss those days somewhat (exhausting) but Arkansas looks like such fun. Great spots to stop and play.
I love it when cities encourage family outings with lots of free things to do. The street art in Fort Smith looks amazing. And we love scenic rail journeys, so the Arkansas Missouri Railroad will definitely be part of our itinerary.

Fort Smith is a cool place to visit! We found this great restaurant, Let’s Eat, that was a family run place. Really good food at an affordable price! Since I want to go back anyways, I think I will take the kids to Tilles Park. We love unique play equipment and missed it last visit.
