Our first visit to Jane’s was after a trip to the Tulsa zoo with friends. I was so thankful they recommended it.

Jane’s Delicatessen Food and Drinks

Unlike many Route 66 restaurants Jame’s has a variety of deli sandwich options and authentic German meals. We were quite surprised by the many options. The wait staff kindly answered any questions we had and explained the different things in the German meals.

Appetizers

We came hungry after exploring the Tulsa Zoo. So, we ordered the Pickle Board. It was a random assortment of pickled foods that did not include any actual pickles. Our board included the following all in pickled form – Peach, Asparagus, Rubarb, Beets, Onions, Celery, Carrots, and Mushrooms. It was unlike anything we had ever had and we enjoyed tasting and talking about our thoughts. Most of them were surprisingly quite good.

The Meals at Jane’s

The variety of food options at Jane’s surpassed our expectations. I thought we were just going to a deli but it’s much more than that.

The sandwiches all sounded so good and for those who are gluten free they have many options for you as well.

But I just had to try some authentic German food. More on that below.

The kids got a delicious extremely cheesy and gooey Mac n Cheese which all the adults had to steal a few bites of.

I had the Weinersnitzel which was authentic style with veal, and came with spatzle and asparagus.

Kayla got the German Stew with a side of mashed potatoes.

We all loved our food and cleaned our plates. We had no room for dessert although they sounded so delicious. The desserts change daily so you never know what might be ready.

Drinks

A large variety of beer was available, with a great selection of wine and soft drinks as well.

Overall Thoughts

We loved the variety and authenticity. We all ate up our meals and didn’t have any leftovers though we typically do.
