We were invited to try out the new Milo Restaurant in OKC. This is a sponsored post but our opinions and experiences are our own.
The Milo – OKC
The Milo restaurant is within the Ellison hotel in downtown OKC. The Milo serves contemporary food from Chef Joshua Valentine (“Top Chef” finalist).
Our experience at the Milo
We were able to enjoy a dinner and brunch. At the Milo and we absolutely LOVED it.
The Milo Restaurant Atmosphere
The restaurant is beautiful with comfortable chairs and booths. Our youngest son was sleepy so he was able to relax with the pillows located in each booth.
The lighting and placement of tables were great. They are spaced out enough to give yourself enough room to enjoy a meal. They also have a private room in the back for events and private parties.
The Staff at the Milo
The wait staff was so friendly and very knowledgeable. They knew so many details about the ingredients and options for their drinks and food across the whole menu. They offered wonderful suggestions and provided such outstanding service.
Dinner at the Milo
Milo has a wonderful selection of unique mixed drinks, wines and meals for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner.
To start out our dinner experience, we began with some cocktails. I had the Nichols Hill Garden Tour. The ingredients included garden club spiced citrus vodka, watermelon basil, lemon and sparkling cava. It was delicious and sweet like a sherbet ice cream.
Kayla had the Bitter Refresh cocktail. Ingredients were as listed: house made limoncello, aperol, grapefruit and rosemary. It tasted tart but it was good.
For our appetizer we ordered the carrot terrine. It had multiple types of carrots and was served cold.
My wife loved it.
They also served Local Milo bread and butter. The butter is sweet but tasty.
We were pleased to try their special appetizer, crawfish agnolotti it was amazing.
I had the Caesar salad which was amazing. I wasn’t sure about caramel popcorn topping until I tried it. The addition of the popcorn topping made the salad taste incredible. My wife was disappointed she didn’t order one for herself.
For our main courses my wife had Quinoa Cakes, which is a fantastic vegan choice.
I had the Grilled NY Strip Steak. Wow, it was so good and the potato purée was amazing.
Our boys had kids corn dogs and fries. It was nice having things for the kids that they enjoyed.
We were pretty full but we had to try dessert. My boys had ice cream and my wife had a berry shortcake and I had a citrus tart. All of our choices were delicious!
The next day we enjoyed brunch at the Milo.
Brunch at the Milo
The Milo offers a great selection of drinks and food for brunch. They have breakfast meals, lunch meals, pastries and more available.
I love trying specials and unique options so I asked our waitress what she recommended. She gave me a few favorite options and I went with the Okie Benedict. It included toasted biscuits, with chicken fried steak, local eggs and chorizo gravy. It was fantastic.
My wife had a coffee cake along with her coffee and a veggie burger.
My oldest son had Biscuits and a gravy.
My youngest son had a grilled cheese sandwich.
Overall thoughts on the Milo
We loved the food, drinks, staff and overall experience and can’t wait to go back and dine at Milo again.
If you are planning a trip to OKC, we highly recommend staying at the Ellison and Dining at Milo. It’s in a great location and we can’t wait to go back.
