Our 5 Favorite Places to Eat, Drink Play in Cozumel, Mexico

——————————————————————————

In our many visits to Cozumel we have tasted a variety of foods and drinks around the cruise port and popular destinations.

Here are some of our favorite places that we have eaten, drank and played at in Cozumel.

Money Bar Beach Club

Experience

We visited Money Bar Beach Club on our most recent cruise with our boys. They have some of the best snorkeling in Cozumel here. The water is beautifully clear and filled with colorful fish. It was also less crowded than the other places we have visited in Cozumel. As for the restaurant portion they have plenty of tables and a full bar. The staff is very friendly and provide quick and accurate service.

Food

The food is a mix between Mexican dishes and Seafood. We enjoyed the food and keep in mind the portions are large, so you might consider sharing your meal.

Location

Money Bar Beach Club is a short taxi ride from the cruise port but the considering it’s away from the crowds and has some of the best snorkeling it is totally worth the ride there.

Paradise Beach

Experience

Paradise Beach has two restaurant areas with a variety of food and drinks. There is a beautiful large pool and inflatables to play on in the ocean. They also have a dock you can walk out on for some great views.

Food

The food was delicious and we were surprised by the variety. We were surprised with the taste of our food. They have a variety of American and Mexican food but my son ordered pizza. It was surprisingly delicious. We all enjoyed our meals.

Hard Rock Cafe

Experience

I first visited Cozumel on a trip with my Mom, Brother Grandma and Grandpa in 2007. Being a Hard Rock Cafe fan I was all  about visiting their different locations and excited to see the one in Cozumel. I love seeing the rock and roll memorabilia and the sweet merchandise.

Food

If you have ever been to a Hard Rock Cafe you know what food to expect. They have a variety of American food that tastes good. I usually get the steak and mashed potatoes.

Location

The location we went to has since closed but there is another Hard Rock Cafe Cozumel Located a few minutes from the cruise ports. You can find it at the map below

Carlos and Charlies Beach Club Cozumel

Experience

We also visited Carlos and Charlies on my family trip in 2007. It was very entertaining. The wait staff were hilarious. They kind of act like the waitors at Dicks’ Last Resort. They were constantly joking and our waiter even jokingly rubbed his butt on my grandma. We all had a good laugh and got balloon hats.

Food

They have a delicious selection of Mexican foods and Seafood. I really loved the quesadilla!

Location

Carlos & Charlies is a short walk from the ship.

Margaritaville

Experience

I first visited Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville Cozumel in 2011 with Kayla and her mom, stepdad and brothers. The food was good and the views were great. They had a swimming area with inflatables in the back to climb and jump on while playing in the ocean. We were even able to see some colorful fish swimming around below us.

Food

They have a great variety of Burgers, Caribbean Cuisine and of course Margaritas.

Location

Margaritaville is an easy and quick walk to from the cruise ship.

  1. Oddly while I have been to Mexico many times I have yet to make it to Cozumel. I have done Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Costa Maya. I would love to visit and will check a few of these spots out when we get there. Love Mexico. The food is so fresh and delicious and the climate seems to always be ideal. You are reminding me that it’s time to visit Mexico again soon.

  2. I think there are two types of travellers in the world, those that love Hard Rock Cafe and those that don’t. We completely skipped over this section of Cozumel during our visit so it’s great to see what’s offered there. Cozumel has so many great restaurants it’s so hard to choose.

  3. Well there is definitely no shortage of places to eat and drink in Cozumel – no surprise! Sounds like the Money Bar Beach Club is the best option – to hang out in the blue waters – and maybe its a little more of a local experience than a chain style restaurant?

  4. It has been a long time since we visited Cozumel. So great to get an updated list of places to go. We would definitely want to visit the Money Bar Beach Club. Especially if we ever visit by cruise ship. The snorkelling would be the big draw for us. We would want more local spots like this and not the bigger chains.

Great guide to Cozumel eateries. It’s been quite a long time since I’ve been there and I have no recollection of eating in any of these places. We used to go quite often to Cancun and Cozumel. I’ll use your list for a future visit to the Yucatan.
