My son Cash helped me make a list of our 5 favorite places for hiking, jogging and exploring around Tulsa, Oklahoma. These parks are great for kids of all ages, even the littlest of them.
1. Turkey Mountain – Tulsa, Oklahoma
Great for hiking, geocaching, and exploring. Cash’s favorite for finding rocks and sticks. There is some small play areas, restrooms, and water fountains. Most of the hiking is not stroller accessible. We actually found that out the hard way. We did the Purple Stride 5k a few years ago when Cash was around 2 years old, we ended up having to carry him up and down the mountain. (Luckily by brother-in-law was there to trade off on carrying Cash) It was still a blast and we loved every minute of it.

2. Woodward Park – Tulsa, Oklahoma
Fantastic for photography, I have actually done countless photo shoots here, of children, seniors, couples and family’s. Nice swing area and plenty of room to let the kids run free through the grass. Plus there are tons of squirrels that will eat out of your hand! (Here’s proof!) Cash loves exploring here!

3. Ray Harrell Nature Park – Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
My dad used to take me and my brother here on nature walks when we were little. I had to continue the tradition and take Cash here. Great for walking and seeing scenery. There is a fun bridge and a few big statues for kids to climb on.

4. Haikey Creek Park – Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
Really fun park with a large playground, Frisbee golf course, jogging track, and nature trails. Cash loves the playground and “Hiking” on the nature trails. We have found many geocaches and had many great family jogs here!

5. Oxley Nature Center – Tulsa, Oklahoma
This is actually in Mohawk Park next to the Tulsa Zoo! I had been to the Tulsa Zoo so many times and never realized this amazing nature preserve until a friend recommend it. It is great for geacaching, picnics, and walking. It is always peaceful and well kept. There is a nice indoor nature center that is fun for all ages! Great place to go for a full day or for a stop after checking out the zoo!
