We recently went to Oktoberfest with some friends for a parents night out.

Oktoberfest is a great place to go hang out with your friends.
This was our first year going to Oktoberfest with a large group of friends. Many of them had never been to Oktoberfest before.
From first time experiences to veteran experiences of other friends, we came up with a list of 5 tips for a perfect evening out at Oktoberfest Tulsa.
5. Find a Spot
Thankfully, we had some friends arrive early so they spread out across a table to make room for the rest of us. They got a table in between the VIP tent and the stage in the main tent. Make sure to get a spot as soon as possible. This tent fills up fast!
It worked out perfectly because I could easily go to the vip tent and throw beads down to my friends. It was easy to get to and wasn’t far from the bathrooms.
4. Prepare for Pennies
Be wary of your stein. If you are not paying attention it will end up full of pennies or even beads.
Bring pennies so you can retaliate. It’s surprising at first but definitely a lot of fun.
3. Wear appropriate attire
This year the weather was great and the evening got a little cool, which was nice since being inside the tent gets pretty warm. Past years have been muddy and rainy. So plan accordingly.
Make sure to wear shoes that are good for dancing and walking.
2. Don’t forget to eat
You don’t want to get sick at Oktoberfest, so be sure to eat some delicious snacks and foods to compliment your drinks.
We loved the pretzels and brats.
1. Transportation
Getting to and from Oktoberfest can be one of the biggest challenges. You need to make sure to get to and from the festival safely. Have a designated driver and Don’t drink and drive. Plan for an Uber or ride a shuttle to a hotel.
We stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton which was very convenient.
Where to Stay at Oktoberfest?
Make it easy and stay at a nearby hotel during your visit to Oktoberfest. There are many shuttles that take you to and from many different locations and hotels.
We stayed at the Downtown Tulsa Doubletree by Hilton, you can book it here.
Soon we will have an article and videos highlighting our stay at the Downtown Tulsa, Doubletree by Hilton. (Disclaimer if you book a hotel through my link I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.)
Overall
We loved hanging out in the large tent dodging penny’s, dancing and eating the delicious foods.
The bands were great and they kept us dancing and singing along. We ran into even more friends and we all had a wonderful time.
We also enjoyed Oktoberfest with our family during the day.
