On our most recent visit to Washington D.C. my in-laws took our boys for the day so Kayla and I could spend our 10th anniversary exploring D.C.
We found out the Capital Bike Share was the best way to get around town.
Here’s 5 Reasons to use the Capital Bike Share in Washington DC
5. The Convenience of Biking D.C.
There are many options for getting around Washington DC, from rental cars, to ride shares and cabs. We found the Capital Bike Share made it so much quicker and easier to get around.
What takes 15 – 20 minutes of walking takes 3-4 minutes on bike. Plus you don’t have to worry about paying to park or finding parking spots.
4. The Rental Locations of Capital Bike Share
The Capital Bike Share bikes can be rented all over D.C.
I was surprised how many areas had many bikes and bike parking locations.
We found bike locations near all the major landmarks and and hotels.
3. The Affordable Price:
Capital Bike Share allows you to rent a bike for $8 a day. (But keep in mind to have it checked in every 30 minites or you get a $2 extra fee) it’s easy to check it back in and continue using the $8 a day pass.
2. The Exercise
Riding bikes is great exercise and easy for many people to do.
Seeing the sights and being active is a great plus for us.
1. The Easiness
It’s so easy to rent a bike from the Capital Bike Share kiosk or from the mobile app.
We used the phone app with our Apple Pay and we were able to very quickly rent the bikes.
It’s such a fun way to get around DC.
Overall Thoughts on Capital Bike Share
Overall we highly recommend using the Capital Bike Share when visiting Washington DC.
