5. Get Your Groove On!

You must do the chicken dance while at a Oktoberfest. The kids will love it. Our boys loved dancing to all the songs in the big tent. Volunteers threw confetti and gave the kids beads. They had a wonderful time. You can see my boys dance moves in our Oktoberfest Family Day video!

4. Eat the Delicious Foods!

There is a vast variety of delicious foods to eat, even something for those picky eaters. The kids loved the corn dogs and the pretzels were amazing. My wife and I tried all kinds of brats, a brat burger, a beef Wellington, strudels and candied pecans.

3. Ride the Rides!

The rides at Oktoberfest were awesome. Many of them are similar to those found at the fair and the lines are much shorter. There were passes available for unlimited rides. These passes were sold for $20 per person.

2. Enjoy the Entertainment!

Watch one of the bands, shows or competitions. As I mentioned earlier, my boys loved dancing while the bands played. We explored different tents to hear different types of instruments and styles of music. We all loved the Glockenspiel and getting merch thrown at us. The comedy show was also very entertaining.

1. Make some Crafts!

Oktoberfest Crafts at Family Day

Many don’t realize Oktoberfest has a wonderful kids area filled with crafts, shows and activities just for the kids.

My boys made sand art bottles and had so much fun decorating them. They called them Trolls because they were able to choose their own type of “troll hair” to put on top.

Bonus : Learn some Bavarian Culture!

During your trip be sure to learn things about the Bavarian Culture. Try to learn a German phrase or a few words.

One thing we all learned? Ziky-Zaky-Ziky-Zaky is Oy! Oy! Oy! The kids loved participating by yelling it back all day and screamed it the whole car ride home.
