5 Eureka Springs Destinations for Nature Lovers


Eureka Springs is the perfect blend of nature and city. Most people know about the natural springs around the town but some don’t realize that just outside of downtown there are many great outdoor activities for the whole family.

We love hiking and being in nature so, during our trip we made sure to schedule some time to explore the great outdoors of Eureka Springs.

Here’s our list of 5 Eureka Springs destinations for Nature Lovers

5. Lake Leatherwood

We have visited Lake Leatherwood on both of our Eureka Springs Adventures. Our first visit was during the off season when we hiked around the lake. On our most recent trip, we just went to enjoy the views.

4. Thorncrown Chapel

You may be wondering how can a chapel be an outdoors or nature loving destination.

Just look at it. It is located right in the middle of a forest and has massive window walls that allows you to enjoy the nature surrounding the church from the inside.

Thorncrown Chapel is open for free tours and you can attend a church service as well. Find out more info on their official site.

3. Beaver Lake

Beaver lake is another great place to hike, camp, and fish. We haven’t visited yet. However, we hope to on our next trip. You can find out more about Beaver Lake here.

2. Pivot Rock

Pivot Rock is a natural phenomenon in Eureka Springs.

It’s does cost to visit but it seems pretty cool. We didn’t have time to see this on our last trip but we hope to visit it in the near future.

1.Onyx Cave

Cash and Kayla in Onyx Cave

Onyx Cave is a great way to connect with nature. Caves are a unique aspect of nature and this cave is definitely a must see when visiting Eureka Springs.
