Family Travel Go Stay
We are living in quite unique times right now with the Corona Virus spreading and people staying home.
But, don’t let these times prevent you from adventuring. There are many adventures you can take without leaving your house (or your home town if you aren’t under forced quarantine.)
Here I will share our ideas to stay entertained and adventurous while at home.
10. Travel Virtually
Throw on a VR Headset and immerse yourself in a different location.
I personally have created and uploaded many 360 VR videos on YouTube.
Here are a few of our favorite VR videos.
Need helping figuring out how to watch a 360 video? Check out our how to video below.
Many museums and zoos have also been uploading content for virtual experiences.
Don’t have a VR a headset?
Buy one on amazon or you could even make one to use with your phone.
I just use my phone with a inexpensive VR headset.

9. Explore your own Backyard
As in now many US State and National Parks and city and local parks have not been closed.
So you can get out and hike and explore in your own area.
If the local parks are closed or you are quarantined it’s a great time to start a garden, or play in your own yard.
8. Play Games
Games are a great way to experience adventures from home. Whether you’re into Board Games or videos games it’s a fun way to explore.
We love playing board games and retro video games from my childhood.
Don’t have an old console? No worries. There’s many free educational and fun games online right now.
Don’t have many board games? Make your own.
7. Create Games
There are many games you can make from your house without any supplies even.
We have played a spin on hide and seek game with my brother in law many times that is a blast.
I also remember hiding toys and having people find them when I was little. It’s kind of like an Easter egg hunt but with toys.
Let us know what kind of games you created as a kid or even as an adult.
6. Watch Movies
Many movies are moving from theatrical release straight to streaming platforms.
You can now watch many movies from home. Trolls 2 is set to be released for digital streaming on its theatrical release date and Frozen 2 has been uploaded to Disney plus earlier than originally planned.
5. Get your Groove On
Many of us have some kind of musical instrument laying around thats collecting dust. I have a guitar I haven’t played in months.
No instrument no worries. There are many free music apps. You can easily learn to play piano with the free Garage Band App on iPhones or iPads.
4. Create A Masterpiece
Get creative and make something. We love trying our best to draw and be creative.
Get out some art supplies or even a pen or pencil and doodle. When’s the last time you drew or created art?
3. Read
Get lost in a book. Reading is a great way to go on adventures and explore. I read to my boys almost every night and it’s such a fun thing to do.
2. Exercise
Just because the gyms have closed it doesn’t mean you have to stop working out. Beachbody and many workout videos are now free for a limited time.
I’ve started the Insanity workout and it is intense but I love it!
1. Cook
Now that most of the world has stocked up on groceries and many restaurants are closed its time to try cooking.
We have one article about some delicious camping recipes but you can make them at home as well!
We love looking up recipes on Pinterest and giving it a try. My wife makes some amazing meals that way.
I like to experiment and try different things without instructions or to alter recipes.

Don’t forget to Support local businesses.
Many local business are delivering or selling gift cards. Be sure to support your local community.

I have noticed that many of our neighbors are sharing sidewalk art. Mostly drawings by children using chalk, some very artistic pieces, and many more verses of Bible scriptures.
Definitely support those local businesses! I bought some gift cards yesterday from a friend who owns a restaurant and is struggling right now!
