10 Reasons we love the Tulsa Maker Faire



We love going to events and destinations in our home state of Oklahoma. One of our favorite annual events is the Tulsa Maker Faire.

What’s the Maker Faire?

The Tulsa Maker Faire

Maker Faires are referred to as a big Show and Tell. The Maker Faire in Tulsa, Oklahoma fits right into that description.

3D printed items that were scanned from real objects then printed larger than actual size.

It’s a place where’s makers can meet up and share their creations and learn about new technologies and more.

10. It’s Free.

There are plenty of free things to have, see and do while there.

9. Hands on Activities

There are multiple activities where you get to create your own things.

8. Workshops

This last year was the first year they had free workshops to attend.

We attended all of them and learned so much while having fun.

7. The Vendors

A large selection of vendors were willing to share their own creative projects and businesses.

They were all very welcoming and open to connecting and teaching their methods.

6. The Freebies

Most of the booths had free items to create and customize.

5. The Cosplay

I love seeing the props, droids, and cosplay. Creators make such amazing suits.

It’s amazing that people are able to create a certain look so realistic and true to the films.

They were all extremely friendly and willing to take photos with you for free.

In the 2018 Tulsa Maker Faire, they had a giant Toothless Dragon from How to Train Your Dragon that they allowed people to climb on for photos.

4. The Community

The Maker Community is an awesome bunch of creators.

They love creating and teaching others to create. It’s kid friendly and fun for all ages.

3. The Cars

I love cars and attending car shows.

At the Tulsa Maker Faire they have a selection of cars designed and inspired from movies.

2. Robots

If you like robots you will see all kinds at the Tulsa Maker Faire. They even let you control some of them. My favorite part is the competition area where robots compete in challenges. They even had robots that battled.

1. Stage Presentations

Throughout the day there are many different stage presentations. Some where you can sit and learn and others where you are encouraged to participate. We were impressed with the dance party where we saw all kinds of cosplayers dancing.

The last two Tulsa Maker Faire Events were held in the Central Park Hall at the Expo Square on 21st and Yale in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
