Pawhuska has became a great place for family fun over the years. It has continuously grown with attractions, stores and restaurants.
Here’s some of our favorite things to see and do in Pawhuska from our own experiences over multiple trips.
1. Experience the Pioneer Woman Mercantile
No visit to Pawhuska is complete without eating and shopping here.
We dine at the Pioneer Woman Mercantile every time we visit Pawhuska. It’s always a great experience with delicious food.
They have a wonderful selection of kitchen items, decor and gifts to shop for while your table is prepared.
2. Shop Unique Stores Downtown
There are many souvenir shops including places to get custom cowboy hats, custom leather works, cowboy boots, clothing and gifts of all kinds.
Some notable mentions would be the Bucking Flamingo, the Mercantile and the Osage Outfitters.
3. Enjoy lunch or dinner at Ptown Pizza
We recommend a weekend or at least a full day with two meals when visiting Pawhuska.
P-Town is a great place for some delicious pizza and some great views of the town.
4. Get a sweet treat at Charlies Sweet Shop
Charlie’s Sweet Shop offers a variety of delicious treats including ice cream, and baked goods.
It’s the best place for dessert in Pawhuska.
5. Experience the Beauty of the Pioneer Woman filming set at the Drummond Ranch Lodge
Drummond Ranch is a stop you don’t want to miss. You can walk around the set of the Pioneer Woman Cooking show.
6. Experience Nature at the Osage Hills State Park
It’s a great place to hike and they also offer cabins to stay at.
7. Take a walk across the famous Pawhuska swinging bridge
The bridge is a fun thing to experience while in town.
8. Sightsee the Historic Buildings and the Filming locations.
Killers of the Flower Moon filming starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert Dinero was filmed here.
You can see mocked storefronts and the Main Street they used for many scenes in the movie.
The jail and courtroom sets are still here to see as well.
9. Enjoy some Coffee and Art at the Frontier Hotel
This is a great place to stay right in the heart of the town. It’s also a great place to stop by and they have a coffee shop!
10. Learn about the unique history at the Osage Country Historical Society Museum
The Museum has a ton of fun exhibits sharing history of this unique area.
11. Woolaroc
Woolaroc is an amazing place for family fun. They have a variety of wildlife that are easy to see.
They also have an impressive amount of Native American artifacts and antiquities.
Overall Pawhuska is a great place for a day trip or a weekend trip.
