10+ Family Fun Things in Port Aransas

We’ve visited Port Aransas twice now and each time we experience new things and revisit some things again.

We love Port Aransas! It’s a great place for a family vacation.

Here’s 10+ Family Fun Activities and Things to do in Port Aransas, Texas.

10. The Port Aransas Beach

The Beach is what brought us to Port Aransas. We loved playing in the sand, building sandcastles, splashing in the ocean, finding sea shells and tanning in the sun.

It’s a wonderful place to spend a long time.

Be sure to bring sun screen, water, food and a shade tent or umbrella if you plan on spending the day!

9. Red Dragon Pirate Cruise

The Red Dragon Pirate Cruise is an amazing adventure!

We went years ago with Cash when he was little. We loved every minute of it!

8. The Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center

The Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center is a wonderful wildlife preserve where you can see many types of birds and even an alligator!

The trail is a fun boardwalk with beautiful views of wildlife and marshland.

7. University Of Texas Marine Science Institute

The University of Texas Marine Science Institute has amazing interactive exhibits.

Unfortunately, on our most recent visit it was closed but we have visited years ago and really enjoyed it. Hoping they reopen soon!

6. Dolphin Watching at Roberts Point Park

We have visited Roberts Point Park multiple times on our visits.

We have seen dolphin sightings every time we visited! They love to splash all around the park.

It’s also a great place for a stroll or a picnic.

5. The Port Aransas History Museum

We discovered the Port Aransas History Museum on our most recent visit. It was very exciting seeing the history and artifacts from the towns past.

They have a few fun interactive photo ops and exhibits as well!

4. The Port Aransas Ferry

Our kids really loved the ferry ride.

It’s a free boat ride where you drive your car up on the ferry and it takes you to and from the island.

3. Eat at a Fun Local Restaurant

Port Aransas has many fun local restaurants! Our last visit we ate at Fins! If you plan on fishing you can bring any fish you catch and they will cook it for you!

2. Explore Mustang Island State Park

Mustang island has beautiful beaches and hiking trails!

We visited years ago and enjoyed exploring the park.

1. Check out the Souvenir Shops and the big photo ops around the town.

Any family vacation isn’t compete without souvenir shopping and photo ops.

There are a few giant sharks to get photos with and many other things as well.
