Learning, Playing and Exploring – The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures.
Not only is there displays of many collections there is historical information and well put together displays where you can get hands on and learn about the history and advancements of toys throughout the years.
We found the whole museum both entertaining and very informative. It was fun seeing the toys we remembered as children as well as seeing toys our ancestors had played with many many years ago.
They literally had such a variety of toys and miniatures from extremely old to fairly new and everything in between. The layout and design of the rooms and displays made it fun for everyone. To my surprise Cash and I even enjoyed the toy doll area of the museum. It was entertaining seeing the old dolls “creepy dolls” as Cash called them. Mommy even talked Cash into posing with her in the Doll photo stand.
The toys were my favorite part of the museum. I loved seeing the different individual collections displayed. My favorite had to be the Star Wars collection and the Mickey Mouse collection was a close 2nd. The room of classic pedal cars was very informative and well displayed. It was amazing to see the transformation in toy cars over the years.
I was absolutely amazed at the miniatures. I originally did not think it would be that entertaining since it never really drew my attention before. But my goodness the detail and craftsmanship that goes into the miniatures on display is breathtaking. The attention to detail and tiny size of the different miniatures was out of this world.
